At Ashbury our ECD programme firstly recognises that every child is a unique individual who learns and develops at his/her own pace and manner. At the ECD centre our teachers strive for a holistic education. We encourage gross motor exercises on the outdoor equipment as well as fine motor activities in our spacious classrooms. We do this in a warm, kind and nurturing environment.
Early Childhood Development (ECD) can be defined as the physical, cognitive and social development that a child experiences prior to reaching his/her preparatory school entering age. ECD therefore lays the groundwork for successful learning supporting the child to progress into, and adapt to, formal schooling.
Our approach is one of recognising the inherent holistic nature of the child thus seeking to develop all aspects of every child: social, emotional, intellectual, aesthetic and physical potential. This is implemented through active participation in a structured programme
Also included in our ECD fees are bi-weekly training sessions done by Soccercise Starz. Soccer Starz provides an early training platform for our learners where they will learn various skills, not only in soccer, but other sports that involves playing with a ball. Our trained coaches will provide the skills needed for youngsters to become more confident on and off the sports field.
